The Qatar Mobility Innovations Center (QMIC) at the Qatar Science & Technology Park announced its successful participation at the 3rd Cooperative Mobility Services (CMS) Interoperability Testing (Plugtests™) – an event organized by the Center for Testing and Interoperability (CTI) of ETSI ( European Telecommunications Standards Institute) in partnership with ERTICO (ITS Europe) and held at the end of 2013 in Essen, Germany. This event represents a unique opportunity for global companies and R&D institutions to test their prototypes against the Cooperative ITS Communication standards and to benchmark progress with their partners and competitors.
Dr. Adnan Abu-Dayya, the Executive Director of QMIC said “We have a strategic initiative to lead in the development and deployment of connected vehicle platforms and services in the region. Having our platform, which is fully made in Qatar, successfully tested against other global implementations, is a testament to how far we have come as a leading national R&D center in the region. This initiative is bringing us one step closer to realize the next generation of road safety applications and services in Qatar and the region”.
Dr. Fethi Filali, a Senior R&D Export and ITS Technology Lead at QMIC said “……We are committed to playing a significant regional and global role in delivering the new generation of automotive services, technologies, and applications to reduce road accidents and increase traffic efficiency”.
