Orange Business Services, the enterprise division of Orange, will be providing wireless connectivity to Tesla’s Model S vehicles in this country.
Orange Business has already made forays into the connected car segment with the launch, in 2011, of its Smart Cities and Territories delivering connectivity services for a wider range of devices and ‘things’. The recent tie-up with Tesla marks Orange Business’ move to capitalize the demand for connectivity particularly relating to navigation and infotainment services.
Under the agreement, Tesla drivers can sign-up for Orange’s connection services and access a whole range of in-vehicle services including navigation, internet radio, web browsing and remote diagnostics and over-the-air updates of M2M software, said Orange in its recent statement.
“We are excited to bring the connected Model S to our French customers. An excellent customer experience is paramount, and we know this is possible through the quality of the Orange mobile network and the company’s constant pursuit of innovation.”
said Jérôme Guillen, Tesla’s Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Service.
Pascal Ancian, Vice President Mobile, France & International, Orange Business Services said of the partnership that
“Tesla is a world renowned brand, and we are thrilled to be their trusted partner as they enter the French market. We look forward to innovating side-by-side with Tesla to enrich the connected car experience for all consumers.”
