Dublin-based M2M connectivity platform Cubic Telecom has launched what it says is the largest independent LTE platform in Europe for M2M and connected car applications. The Cubic platform will be directly connected to tier 1 network partners for robust connectivity for drivers of major connected car brands across Europe.
The Cubic cross-Europe LTE platform will be able to provide high-speed connectivity for subscribed connected car drivers Europe-wide. Cubic customers will be able to take up regional or Europe-wide data plans to give them 24-7 access to Wi-Fi connectivity, personal apps and more, all from their cars.
The initial network rollout will include 13 countries including Germany, France, Spain, Italy, UK, Ireland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Austria and Denmark.
In order to prepare the launch, Cubic Telecom signed cooperation deals with a number of network operators including EE, EIR (rebranded Eircom), Mobistar, Orange, Salt (formerly Orange Switzerland), Tele2 and TIM. Cubic Telecom enabled vehicles will enter the market in the coming months across Europe. More details on plan pricing and availability will be announced soon.
